Seyhan Adana Sucuzade Neigborhood is located in between 3 main street axis, which are Saydam Ave, Obalar Ave and Metro Ave. Sucuzade Neigborhood neigbors the city’s historic trade center and located south west of Tepebağ Tumulus which dates back to 2500BC. In 19th and first half of 20th Century the area had been an important trade center but with the changing context of the city; as the focal point moves towards north this area started losing interest and has become a shantytown.
Being 2. degree earthquake zone, buildings in the neighborhood do not meet the current building codes and vulnerable to natural disasters, thus Seyhan Municipality chose this area for Urban Revitalization.
The design for 3,2 hectares located at the north side of Sucuzade has been decided by a national architectural competition consisiting of mainly a design of a city square with supporting commercial spaces.
BARIŞ ALTIOK ARCHITECTS, provided the master planning of the site and architectural design of all the buildings in the site for 8,3 hectares (20.5 Acres) urban revitalization zone covering south side of the neighborhood . Mixed-use buildings are designed consisting of Ground Foor Commercial areas, Office and Residential areas. 1,354 Residential Units 190 Commercial/Ofis Units, Total of 1,544 units with underground parking.
